Lockdown Memory Box

Yesterday in our online Start the Week Write we wrote a list of things – objects, sounds, smells, food etc – that we would want to carefully place in our Lockdown Memory Box. As ever, writing took me to places I hadn’t expected. Some of the things mentioned in our group were a recording of birdsong, a packet of yeast, Uno cards, photos of Joe Wicks and Capt. Tom Moore, screenshot of a Zoom meeting and a tube of magnolia handcream.
Our final journaling prompt was ‘I feel strengthened by…’ For me the light shining through these twelve weeks has been the inventiveness of my son and I of how to pass the time and a palpable sense of collective spirit.
