Make a Nesting Now

In Start the Week Write Online today we took inspiration from the Danish practice of ‘hygge’ – the art of taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things. As the Little Book of Hygge notes it’s more about the atmosphere and experience of something rather than the things themselves. We wrote what in our homes gave us this feeling of cosiness and vividly recalled and wrote about a moment of pure hygge. And, being at home, we got to show each other one of our cosy things! We read the fabulous David Whyte’s poem, Make a Nesting Now, which gave us lots of inspiration for our own writing.
